It's the return of the award winning immersive Great Central Experience that is Railways At Work. August 10th and 11th - step back to 1966, when it was all about the World Cup. On the railways there was plenty of change with the switchover from steam to diesel well underway. Watch the porters at work, see the trains loaded and unloaded, look out for the policemen and football fans.

Our first ever trains through the night event took place on June 1st and 2nd 2024. What's it like on our stations in the small hours of the morning with freight trains rumbling by?
